Bio

Batavia has been my home now for 50 years and a wonderful place to grow up. People always ask what makes Batavia so special- and it is truly the people within it. There is a strong sense of community here and the crimson and gold blood runs deep. I attended HC Storm School when it first opened in 1978, then Batavia Junior HIgh, graduating in 1989. I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with my Elementary Education degree and began teaching Kindergarten in Batavia a month after graduation. I taught at Louise White School, and then Alice Gustafson School for the following 4 years until I had my first child- Andrew, with 2 girls following. My husband Brad and I have lived in Batavia since 2001 and all 3 of our children have attended Batavia Schools. In 2015 I was offered my current job with Batavia Schools as the Community Outreach Coordinator helping families who may be experiencing homelessness or a crisis in some way. I'm proud to be a Bulldog and that all 3 of my kids are as well. Batavia is a very special place with incredible people.
