Bio

Jamie Saam is the founder and President of the Batavia-based Marketing and Small Business Consulting Firm, LocalConnect. Jamie spent the bulk of her childhood and now her adulthood in the Batavia community, and the roots she has formed here run deep. After graduating from BHS in Jamie went to college at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Jamie and her husband, Douglas Saam moved back to Batavia in 2007. Jamie jumped right back into volunteering in the local community including working with Batavia Kiwanis Club, Water Street Studios, and Art In Your Eye. Jamie made the leap into entrepreneurship in 2011, forming Bulldog Plumbing Inc. Jamie and Doug just celebrated 10 years for Bulldog Plumbing! Jamie decided that her next step in community service was to run for an elected position on the Batavia City Council. She served as Alderman of the 4th Ward from 2013-2015. She left that position in 2015 to become the Executive Director of Batavia Mainstreet, providing Jamie with an opportunity to help revitalize downtown Batavia and encourage greater economic development and entrepreneurship. This position cemented her place in the community as an advocate for and supporter of small businesses, paving the way for the formulation of LocalConnect. Outside of her professional life, Jamie loves spending time with her husband and two sons, relishing her current role of Hockey Mom! When she is outside of the Batavia area, you can find her in other small towns, shopping and supporting those businesses and communities.
